Hillcrest Animal Hospital Testimonials

Our 11 year old English Bulldog had tendon repair surgery this week and I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Nafe and his staff!!! They answered every question and concern, made sure he was a good candidate for surgery and made sure my fur baby was taken care of! He staff kept us informed the whole way and Dr Nafe called right after the procedure and was so supportive and reassuring.... I could tell he really cared. You'll never know how much it means to know he was in such caring hands!

We will never use another vet clinic other than Hillcrest. Our vet Dr Erickson and Jillian who takes care of the hospital plus the staff goes above and beyond. Our wheaten Belle was sick for over a week with liver failure and we took her home every night and returned her daily. Even after we lost her I got texts, phone calls and encouragement. Because of them I was able to transfer what I learned about unconditional love for a pet to the realization that getting another honored her memory.
So now they care for our labradoodle Bear...and me with joy!

I have been going to Hillcrest Animal Hospital since 1986. Two of my dogs over the last thirty years had hip dysplasia. One dog had a torn ACL and meniscus. Dr Larry Nafe did all of the surgeries. He is one of best veterinarians in the country. I also had one dog that had cancer. She received excellent care and was treated with compassion. I have liked all the vets who have seen and treated my dogs over the years. The staff is very friendly. I board my dogs often because I know they will receive good care. My dog Buddy loves going there and is so happy when he gets there. Thank you for taking such good care of my babies over the years. I will not take my babies anywhere else.

Dr. Joan Nafe has been my vet now for the last 8 years and I've seen many vets during the years before I found her and none of them ever made me feel as if my dog was the most important patient on their list. But Dr. Nafe did. Knowing that's not possible because she is in demand but she ALWAYS made me feel that way. She never missed returning my call no matter how late it was after closing and always asked me to call her on certain days of the week for an update. Words cannot express how much I admire her for her constant care of her patients and her constant work ethic. My baby girl Torie who was 13 years old was diagnosed with heart failure in 2014 and not expected to live more than 6 months but because Dr. Nafe never gave up on her in trying to find the right combination of medication that would work for her she lived another year and 9 months. It nearly killed me to have to say goodbye this past Monday but Joan impressed me with how caring she was and how gentle she was with my little girl. She joined us in petting her while she crossed over and hugged both my husband and I and told us what great parents we were. I miss my baby more than I can find the words to say and it's been a rough week so far. I got home to find that Dr. Nafe took time out of her incredibly busy schedule to write us a sympathy letter and to let us know that my Torie would be missed by all of them. I've never heard of a vet that takes time to do that but Dr. Nafe did. I love her for loving my baby so much and for helping me through the last couple years and being patient with all my calls and questions. She is a true gift to all of us and especially to all of our fur babies. The staff at Hillcrest has been a blessing as well. They have always been very helpful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Hillcrest Animal Hospital and especially to Dr. Joan Nafe. They broke the mold when they made you!

Hands down, the best! Dr. Butner is more like family now as she has cared for and loved my girls with me to the very end- from GI issues, Disko spondylitis, and even when it was time to cross the Rainbow Bridge, I could not ask for more compassion, honesty, reliability, or expertise when it comes to the fur babies that I love wholeheartedly! Dr. Razer saved my lab mix when vets at other clinics had no hope, but I am thankful because it led me to Hillcrest! The entire team of staff there is amazing and I would be lost without them! They know how to gently lift your 100 lb + senior dog into the vehicle without hurting them, they actually listen, care, and are faithful to relay messages and keep their word, and they even save their microwave lunch containers for scatter-brained pet moms like me who ran out of the house too quick to remember the water dish. Not once, have they ever failed to help me and my girls when I needed them. My girls love and trust them, and so do I!

I have never done a  review before, but felt compelled after our first experience with Dr. Clark yesterday. Our 7-year-old Boxer had been sick for two weeks; our regular vet clinic had us racking up large bills and a misdiagnosis after first sending us home saying she was fine. Dr. Clark figured things out (a terminal heart condition) in less than an hour and was professional and compassionate every step of the way – especially when it was determined our pup wouldn't survive. We lost our Mercy yesterday, but Dr. Clark gained a new customer and will be seeing our Grady from here on.

Hillcrest has the most experienced, knowledgeable vets and techs I've ever found. From my cats to my chickens, they have only offered excellent and compassionate care!! Wouldn't take my animals anywhere else!

My 10 yr old Cocker Spaniel had a ruptured disk and completely paralyzed back legs. It's been 4 month now & he is running & playing & enjoying life. Thank you so much for saving our Fred & taking such good care of him. You all are wonderful!!
